Summer Intern - Interior Design
About The Position
SOM is seeking a Summer Intern in Interior Design. The Summer Internship Program is intended for students planning careers in design disciplines and offers opportunities to learn from experts, build design and visualization skills, and contribute to design projects. Interns participate in a range of in-person and virtual learning opportunities and events. The program runs from June 7, 2027, through August 13, 2027. Applicants must be returning to school in Fall 2027, and work samples are required for review. The application deadline is January 18, 2027. Compensation typically ranges from $25 to $27 per hour, based on experience, qualifications, location, and education.
Requirements
- Current student in an accredited bachelor’s or master’s degree program in interiors, architecture, or a related field of study.
- Must be returning to school in Fall 2027.
- Some experience in the interior design profession or associated arts.
- Strong design capabilities demonstrated in a portfolio or work samples; work samples must be submitted to be reviewed.
- Basic abilities in space planning, 2D/3D drawings, and rendering.
- Proficiency in Revit, Rhino, and Adobe Suite.
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively.
