About The Position

This position is a Summer Mentor to Students for the Discovery Club/Access 21 Stand Alone Program. The role is contingent on funding and student enrollment. The work year is from July 6, 2026, to July 30, 2026. Work hours are Monday through Thursday, either from 7:30 am to 12:15 pm at Nettle Middle School or 8:45 am to 1:15 pm at Haverhill High School. Training dates will be determined in June. The position is located at either Nettle Middle School or Haverhill High School, depending on intern site placement. The salary is a $1,000 stipend.

Requirements

• Licensed Teacher by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education – Required

Nice To Haves

• Experience in Discovery Club or Access 21 – Preferred
• CPR and First Aid Certified

Responsibilities

• Mentor HHS Student Education Intern.
• Meet with HHS Student Education Intern outside of after school program hours to support Student Education Intern with program training plan objectives/goals.
• Include opportunities for Student Education Intern to work with individual students, small groups and eventually lead a whole class lesson by the end of the program.
• Assist with evaluation and data collection.
• Maintain enrollment and attendance records.
• Responsible for other duties as indicated by directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designees, and policies of the Haverhill School Committee.
