About The Position

NORY is seeking a passionate and visionary Summer Camp Site Director to lead a campsite to success. This role involves inspiring and supporting educators, ensuring they have a rewarding experience, showing love and care to campers, delivering excellent customer support to parents, and guiding staff to reach their full potential. The position offers professional leadership development, training in diverse STEM topics, opportunities to build lasting professional relationships within a community of over 400 educators, and a pathway to year-round employment opportunities.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing and coaching a team of 4+ teachers while fostering a positive, collaborative team environment.
  • A proven track record of building strong, professional relationships with families in a camp or educational setting.
  • 5+ years of experience teaching children ages 3–12 in any subject or discipline.
  • A distinct willingness to learn, adapt, and quickly adopt new technologies and operational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with a STEM-focused curriculum is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Coach and Train Counselors: Mentor and develop teaching staff, ensuring they understand activity purposes and properly implement protocols for a fun, safe camp environment.
  • Nurture Campers and Families: Build strong, supportive relationships with campers and their families to enhance the overall camp experience.
  • Operations Management: Efficiently oversee and manage all physical aspects of camp operations, including materials, facilities, and daily schedules.
  • Administrative Oversight: Maintain accurate, up-to-date administrative records for all aspects of the camp to ensure smooth daily operations and compliance.
  • Step-In Teaching: Enthusiastically lead camp activities or classes to maintain a high-quality experience for campers when coverage is needed.
