Part Time - STEM - Summer Camp Instructor
About The Position
Penn State Abington seeks to hire part-time Youth Program instructors for grades K-12 from June 2027 through August 2027. Topics to be taught include STEM programming, arts, writing, leadership and soft skills, wellness, and others. Instructors are responsible for assisting with creating and implementing program curriculum and lessons, managing supplies, and the supervision of minors participating in programs. Instructors must work collaboratively with the Youth Program Director, Student counselors, and Continuing Education staff to create an inviting, enjoyable and educational environment for students. Attend team meetings as expected by Youth Program Director.
Requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills
- Must be outgoing
- Work well with children
- Strong customer service skills
- Self-starter
- Advanced degree in an appropriate discipline, from an accredited institution
- Submit a resume including any teaching experience
- Submit a cover letter stating the types of programs that you are interested in teaching
- Attend a mandatory staff orientation prior to the camp season
- PA State Police Criminal Background Check
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form
- Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check
- National Sex Offender Registry Clearance (NSOR)
- Additional clearances may be necessary if you resided outside of Pennsylvania in the past five years

- Prior teaching experience is strongly preferred
