About The Position

Lazard is a global financial advisory and asset management firm with a collaborative culture and an advisory business spanning mergers and acquisitions, restructurings, capital structure, and capital raising. Its Restructuring & Liability Management team draws on expertise in restructuring, liability management, M&A, credit analysis, capital raising, industry insights, and negotiations in distressed situations. The team has advised on more than 500 restructurings over the past decade, involving more than $2 trillion in restructured liabilities.

Summer Associates’ day-to-day activities depend on their prior experience and abilities. Work includes financial analysis and modeling, preparing client presentations and marketing materials, and interacting with clients. The role is based in Chicago, and an interest in working there is necessary. The internship begins with a comprehensive week-long training program in New York and includes formal mentorship, exposure to the Leadership Team, and social and networking events with bankers across the firm.

Requirements

• 2–3 years of prior work experience.
• Currently matriculated in an MBA or JD program and within two years of graduation.
• Top academic performance.
• Motivation, creativity, maturity, and poise.
• Strong quantitative background.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask.
• Interest in working in Chicago.
