Suite Busser
About The Position
The Suite Busser assists Suite Servers in providing first-class service to suite patrons and their guests. The role focuses on assigned suites and works closely with the Suite Server to deliver attentive, fast, and efficient service. The Suite Busser is expected to meet a higher standard than a restaurant busser, including paying close attention to detail, remembering VIP client preferences, assisting with setup and buffet maintenance, and keeping suites tidy throughout the day. The position requires a high school diploma, basic English fluency, and a pari-mutuel license. One to three years of bussing or serving experience is preferred, as is experience bussing at Gulfstream Park. Bilingual English/Spanish ability is preferred but not required. The work involves regular hand use, reaching, and communicating; occasional standing, walking, climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling; and occasional lifting or moving of up to 50–75 pounds. The employee may encounter travel-related risks between buildings and work areas, fumes or airborne particles including second-hand smoke, and challenging interactions with irate guests or staff. Noise levels range from light to moderate. Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Requirements
- High school diploma.
- Basic fluency in English.
- Required pari-mutuel license.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and administrative skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work with internal and external customers, using patience, tact, and diplomacy to defuse difficult situations, gather accurate information, and resolve conflicts.
- Ability to perform the described physical demands, including occasionally lifting or moving up to 50–75 pounds, with reasonable accommodations as applicable.

Responsibilities
- Stock and restock items in the suites and kitchen as needed.
- Assist servers by clearing suites and removing used dishes and glassware.
- Take proactive actions based on training without waiting for instructions.
- Set up suites for the next day with glasses and silverware.
- Reposition chairs and tables according to guests’ preferences.
- May obtain racing forms and programs for guests.
- May pick up food from another onsite outlet and bring it to the suite.
- May respond to guests’ needs when the Suite Server is absent and communicate special requests to the Suite Server and/or F&B Manager.
- Assist with identifying and resolving problems or guest complaints.
- Assist with proper suite closing under the direction of the on-duty manager.
- Assist with setup and buffet maintenance and keep suites tidy throughout the day.
- Remember VIP client preferences and work with Suite Servers to provide attentive, efficient service.
