About The Position

EAC Network, a leading not-for-profit social service agency, is seeking a dedicated Suffolk ADR Community & Court Services Specialist to join the Long Island Dispute Resolution Centers (LIDRC). This role provides court-connected and community-based Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) services in Suffolk County. Responsibilities include in-court intake and screening, case coordination, mediation scheduling, direct mediation services, managing community mediation cases, and supporting other ADR services on a shared rotation basis. The position requires periodic travel between Nassau and Suffolk Counties, and occasional travel throughout New York State for agency-related activities.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree, Bachelor’s degree preferred in conflict resolution, human services, criminal justice, or related field.
  • Certified mediator or eligible for certification.
  • Experience working in court-based or community mediation programs preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and data management skills.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, database systems, and virtual platforms (Zoom, Webex, Teams).
  • Valid NYS driver’s license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide daily Small Claims Court coverage in Suffolk County during morning court calendars.
  • Conduct in-court intake screening and explain mediation to litigants for mediation appropriateness.
  • Maintain regular communication with court clerks and court administrators.
  • Mediate as needed.
  • Prepare and submit required court documentation and disposition reports.
  • Support other ADR services initiatives.
  • Manage community cases for ADR services in the afternoon.
  • Conduct intake, screening, and case preparation for community referrals.
  • Coordinate mediations and provide direct mediation services as needed.
  • Maintain relationships with community referral partners.
  • Maintain confidential case files and documentation.
  • Enter case data into Caseload Manager.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training activities.
  • Assist with outreach and public education efforts.
  • Perform other ADR duties as assigned.
