About The Position

Accumark, a division of National Underground Group, provides subsurface utility designation, mapping, and locating services. The company is hiring a SUE Technician Laborer crew member with instrument experience to work out of its Chesapeake, Virginia office. The role assists utility designation crews and includes pneumatic digging, collecting and documenting data, maintaining tools and equipment, following safety protocols, and performing miscellaneous assigned tasks. Instructor-led training is required to receive locator certification. The position involves working outdoors, driving local roads, and working independently. A four-day, 10-hour-per-day work week is standard; occasional overtime and five- or six-day work weeks may be required. The hourly rate is $18–$22, depending on experience.

Requirements

• Willingness to learn; instructor-led training is required to receive locator certification.
• Ability to drive local roads, work outdoors, and operate independently.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Strong work ethic.
• Ability to use a computer to complete documentation and receive and send email.
• Physically able to work a 10-hour day in cold, hot, and wet environments.
