SUE Technician Laborer - Chesapeake, VA
About The Position
Accumark, a division of National Underground Group, provides subsurface utility designation, mapping, and locating services to city and county utility owners, federal agencies, and professional engineering firms. The company is hiring a SUE Technician Laborer crew member with instrument experience to work out of its Chesapeake, Virginia office. The role supports utility designation crews and includes pneumatic digging, data collection and documentation, and tool and equipment maintenance. Instructor-led training is required to receive locator certification. The standard schedule is four 10-hour days per week, with occasional overtime and five- or six-day work weeks required. The hourly rate is $18–$22, depending on experience.
Requirements
- Willingness to learn; instructor-led training is required to receive locator certification.
- Ability to drive local roads, work outdoors, and operate independently.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Strong work ethic.
- Ability to use a computer to complete documentation and send and receive email.
- Physical ability to work a 10-hour day in cold, hot, and wet environments.
