About The Position

Student Organizations, Prevention and Risk Education, an area within the Office of Texas Student Experience, Student Life, focuses on building the capacity of the institution and student organizations to promote positive organizational culture and minimize high-risk behaviors. This area oversees hazing prevention, the Safety Education Program, the Successful Student Organizations Program, and campus-wide collaborations. This position will serve as a Graduate Assistant to support the Successful Student Organizations Program (SSOP), a curriculum designed to provide student organizations with holistic support for positive culture and risk reduction. The role also offers the opportunity to support general office operations.

Requirements

  • Must be a currently enrolled graduate student (taking at least 9 hours).
  • Attention to detail and ability to work on time-sensitive deadlines.
  • Ability to create processes and systems from scratch.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary administrative and project management lead for the Successful Student Organizations Program.
  • Coordinate schedules between student organizations and facilitators, managing all applicable logistics.
  • Ensure facilitators are prepared for workshops by sharing and prepping materials and sending reminders.
  • Ensure student organizations are prepared throughout the process by providing regular reminders, sharing materials, tracking progress, and troubleshooting.
  • Support the management of the SSOP Committee, including sending materials for review, writing feedback letters, and guiding committee members through the SSOP Rubric.
  • Maintain a system for tracking the progress and making completion projections for organizations in the SSOP using Monday.com.
  • Support additional SSOP projects, including facilitator management and training, assessment, and curriculum design.
  • Meet regularly with the supervisor for ideation, updates, and troubleshooting.
  • Contribute to the success of events, programs, communication, and outreach efforts of the ODRR office.
  • Attend Student Organizations and Texas Student Experience-Student Life meetings, programs, activities, and events as appropriate.
  • Assist with administrative functions related to the role.
  • Assist with general office duties as needed.
