About The Position

DAEOC is seeking substitutes for its Head Start/Early Head Start centers. The successful candidate works cooperatively with center staff, assisting with center and classroom operations and other duties as needed. This is an as-needed substitute position.

Requirements

Valid Missouri Driver's License
Maintain First Aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

Carry out assigned duties according to Head Start Performance Standards and program policies and procedures.
Assist classroom staff and actively participate in classroom operations.
Assist with assessments and screenings as directed.
Ensure that no child is left alone.
Use an appropriate voice tone with children, families, staff, and the public.
Assist in the center as directed.
Assist with data entry as directed.
Build and maintain positive relationships with children and families served by the Head Start/Early Head Start program.
Promote Head Start/Early Head Start goals and ideals and advocate for participating children and families.
Maintain confidentiality of information relating to children, families, and staff.
Maintain knowledge of and comply with Head Start Performance Standards and program policies and procedures.
Maintain a respectful, professional demeanor and demonstrate a positive attitude and use positive language.
Respect the diversity and culture of each child and family.
Arrive at and depart from the work site regularly and on time.
Work as a team member and assist other center staff when necessary.
Provide parents and the public with appropriate literature and materials about Head Start and other community resources.
Maintain First Aid and CPR certification.
Report child abuse and neglect as required by law and submit written reports of hotline calls according to program policies and procedures.
