About The Position

St. Catherine of Siena School is seeking an on-call substitute teacher for our Kindergarten-8th grade for the 2026-2027 school year. Located in the beautiful Maple Leaf community of north Seattle, our school offers a competitive wage and a welcoming, inclusive environment.

Requirements

• Minimum one year's teaching experience working with K-8 students
• Preferably in a teaching capacity in a school environment
• Comfortable working in a faith-based, Catholic environment
• Ability to foster social and academic growth among children
• Genuine care and concern for students
• Enthusiasm for learning
• Ability to collaborate with staff members
• Dependable work ethic
• Shows initiative and is self-driven
• Flexibility in scheduling

Responsibilities

• Teach lessons based on substitute lesson plans
• Provide student support
• Encourage student's progress
• Assist in managing the learning environment
• Assist and work collaboratively with other staff
• Work with students who have a diverse set of needs and learning styles
• Help to maintain a clean and orderly classroom environment
• Teach students in various grades
• Close out the school day and prepare the classroom for the morning
• Promote healthy peer interactions between children of all abilities
• Maintain confidentiality at all times
