Part-time Substitute Teacher - Maple Grove, MN
About The Position
Kokua is seeking substitute teachers for the 2025-2026 school year in Maple Grove and the surrounding Minneapolis area. This part-time role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact in the community by connecting students with classroom role models. Kokua, meaning 'to come together to fulfill a need' in Hawaiian, aims to empower students and help address the teacher shortage crisis. The position offers flexibility, good working hours, and the chance to add representation in the classroom through unique experiences. Substitute teachers will have autonomy in choosing assignments and locations.
Requirements
- 6 months experience working with students (tutoring, camps, volunteer and other experience counts!)
- Bachelor's Degree or higher
- Current residence in or willingness to commute to Minneapolis
- MN Substitute Teaching License or Educators license
- Confidence to manage a classroom of students
- Ability to pass state & federal background check
- Have reliable means of transportation
