About The Position

Kokua is seeking substitute teachers for the 2025-2026 school year in Stillwater and the surrounding Minneapolis area. This part-time role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact in the community by connecting students with classroom role models and helping to address the teacher shortage. The position provides a flexible schedule, good working hours, and autonomy in choosing assignments and locations. Kokua Education, founded by a former teacher, has been connecting individuals to K-12 schools for over 13 years, operating nationwide and building a network of dedicated substitute teachers.

Requirements

• 6 months experience working with students (tutoring, camps, volunteer and other experience counts!)
• Bachelor's Degree or higher
• Current residence in or willingness to commute to Minneapolis
• MN Substitute Teaching License or Educators license
• Confidence to manage a classroom of students
• Ability to pass state & federal background check
• Have reliable means of transportation

• Pay up to $210 daily with weekly paychecks; range depends on credentials & experience
• $192 for daily assignments and $210 for long-term assignments
