Part-time Substitute Teacher - Colorado Springs, CO
About The Position
Kokua Education is hiring part-time substitute teachers in Colorado Springs, Colorado, for the 2026–27 school year. Substitute teachers choose their own schedule and may work up to five days per week in K–12 teaching assignments. The role places positive role models in classrooms to support students’ learning and help them recognize their potential. Assignments may also involve lunch and recess supervision, hallway monitoring, tutoring, and proctoring during testing season. Candidates must be willing to commute to Cimarron Hills and pass state and federal background checks; the cost of those checks is reimbursed after 10 assignments. Pay is $155–$175 per day for daily positions and $171–$193 per day for long-term positions, depending on experience and certification, with weekly paychecks. Employment is paid via W-2, and paid sick days are offered. Kokua describes its support as available daily from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. The role may provide a path to permanent positions at high-performing K–12 schools.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience working with children in any setting, such as a classroom, tutoring, or coaching.
- Confidence managing a classroom of students.
- Willingness to commute to Cimarron Hills.
- Pass state and federal background checks; costs are reimbursed after 10 assignments.

- A bachelor’s degree is preferred; candidates without a degree may be considered based on relevant work experience.

Responsibilities
