About The Position

St. Jude Regional Catholic School in Rockville, Maryland, is hiring a long-term substitute teacher to support the 4th Grade Homeroom from January 4 through March 24, 2027. The substitute contributes to students’ knowledge, development, and progress; supports learning across multiple subject areas; and follows existing school systems, procedures, and protocols. The role includes facilitating problem-solving activities, serving as a role model, and helping ensure students’ well-being, health, and safety.

Requirements

• Understand appropriate teaching methods for students at the corresponding grade level.
• Be willing and able to work with students of the specified age group from diverse backgrounds and with varying abilities to help them achieve educational objectives.
• Organize tasks and manage time effectively to meet diverse deadlines.
• Handle both small and large groups of students in a classroom setting.
• Communicate effectively with students, including on sensitive topics.
• Be familiar with assistive technologies, internet and email systems, and word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software.
• Know how to use technology in instruction to enhance student learning.
• Be proficient in using office and video equipment.
