About The Position

St. Jude Regional Catholic School in Rockville, Maryland, is hiring a long-term substitute teacher to support the 4th Grade Homeroom from January 4 through March 24, 2027. The role reports to the Principal and pays $3,000 per month.

The substitute contributes to students’ learning, development, and progress; supports instruction across multiple subject areas; facilitates problem-solving; and serves as a positive role model. The role also involves following school procedures, promoting student well-being and safety, and communicating subject matter effectively.

Requirements

• Understand appropriate teaching methods for the corresponding grade level.
• Be willing and able to work with students of the specified age group from diverse backgrounds and with varying abilities to help them achieve educational objectives.
• Organize tasks and manage time effectively to meet diverse deadlines.
• Be able to manage both small and large groups of students in a classroom setting.
• Communicate effectively with students, including on sensitive topics.
• Be familiar with assistive technologies, internet and email systems, and word processing, presentation, and spreadsheet software.
• Know how to use technology in instruction to enhance student learning.
• Be proficient in using various office and video equipment.
