About The Position

Temporary Permanent Substitute Teachers for the 2026–2027 school year will work at Oakdale School, following the school calendar. The anticipated start date is immediately, with the specific date listed as TBD. The substitute teacher assumes responsibility for a class and performs the absent teacher’s duties, including maintaining classroom order, conducting quizzes, and sharing homework assignments. Success involves guiding students, maintaining their safety and well-being, assisting with instruction, and fostering a positive classroom climate while the full-time teacher is absent. The position pays $140 per day and requires a bachelor's degree. The role reports to the Building Principal.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree is required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to build supportive relationships with students.
• Patience, compassion, consistency, and adaptability to meet students’ behavioral needs.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with children is desirable.
• A bachelor's degree or higher is described as desirable.

Responsibilities
