Catholic Substitute Teacher
About The Position
Regina Caeli Academy (www.rcahybrid.org) is seeking a part-time Substitute Teacher to teach in a classical and Catholic classroom for up to 14 hours per week in Charlotte, NC. Substitutes are called in as needed when staff are out sick, but can decline if not available on a particular day. The academy offers instruction in a formal Socratic classroom setting on Mondays and Thursdays. The positions are hourly, and childcare/nursery is provided. No additional vacation days are given, but accommodations are made for sick days as needed. Applicants must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church and have a deep love for the Catholic faith. Curriculum and grading guidelines are provided, and tutors are trained to provide instruction and classroom management according to RCA standards. All staff complete a background check and RCA Safe Child training prior to teaching at Regina Caeli Academy. Hours are Mondays and Thursdays 8:50 am - 4:00 pm. Tutors must be willing to prepare for classes at home and come to class prepared to teach in a highly structured environment. Applicants must be available to complete mandatory training videos/assessments and background check.
Requirements
- Must be able to sign an Oath of Fidelity to the Catholic Church.
- Must have a deep love for the Catholic faith.
- Must be living the Catholic faith day-to-day, including having received all the sacraments appropriate to his or her state in life.
- Must complete a background check.
- Must complete RCA Safe Child training.
- Must be available to complete mandatory training videos/assessments.

- A traditional view of the student/teacher relationship.
