About The Position
Wonderful College Prep Academy (WCPA) is seeking thoughtful, inclusive, skilled communicators, and creative problem-solvers who value continuous learning and are excited to serve our students and families. This role involves supporting a vision of excellence for all students, leading classrooms for both day-to-day and long-term assignments, following lesson plans, implementing direct instruction, and behavior management strategies. Additionally, the position includes pushing into classrooms to support student tutoring, enrichment, and small group differentiation in literacy and/or mathematics, maintaining blended learning data trackers for students, and supporting campus supervision before, during, and after school dismissal, adhering to all school policies and guidelines regarding safe school practices.
Requirements
- Meet minimum requirements for a valid California Substitute Teaching Permit
- Committed to our organization's mission and educational philosophy
- Organized and self-managed, able to handle many responsibilities simultaneously
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written
- Able to collaborate and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Dependable and excellent at follow-through
- Computer knowledge and skills; familiar with Microsoft Office suite
Nice To Haves
- Previous substitute teaching, instructional aide, or other relevant experience preferred
- Bilingual Spanish speaker, a plus
- Subject Focuses: Special Education, Math, Science, and ELA
Responsibilities
- Support a vision of excellence for all students, with an urgency to maximize every opportunity necessary to achieve ambitious student outcomes
- Lead the classroom for both day-to-day and long-term assignments. Follow lesson plans, implement direct instruction, and behavior management strategies
- Push into classrooms to support student tutoring, enrichment, and small group differentiation in literacy and/or mathematics
- Maintain blended learning data trackers for students to ensure all students are making adequate progress
- Support campus supervision before, during, and after school dismissal. Follow all school policies and guidelines regarding safe school practices.
