About The Position

Under the supervision and direction of the CDC Preschool Supervisor, the Preschool Teacher creates a preschool environment that promotes children's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development through developmentally appropriate practices. The role plans and implements care, instruction, and supervision for children ages 18 months to 5 years, supporting student learning.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of 12 semester units, or equivalent, in Early Childhood Education, including Child/Human Growth and Development, Child, Family and Community, and Program/Curriculum.
• Valid California driver's license and ability to remain insurable at the District's standard insurance market rate.
• Current DMV report.
• Pass the District's applicable proficiency exam for the job class with a satisfactory score; the exam may include a written test, oral interview, and/or work sample.
• Possess and maintain current First Aid and CPR certification.
• After an offer of employment, obtain Criminal Justice and FBI Fingerprint Clearance.
• After an offer of employment, pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical exam, both at the District's expense.
• Provide a negative TB test result and complete periodic post-employment retesting as required, currently every four years.
• Submit a letter of introduction, two letters of recommendation, and a resume.

Nice To Haves

• A.A. or B.A. in Early Childhood Education.
• Two years of experience in a group childcare setting.
