About The Position

The Pegasus School is seeking Substitute Teacher Assistants to join our team for the 2026–2027 school year. Substitute Teacher Assistants provide important classroom and student supervision support across grades 1–8 and help ensure continuity when regular team members are absent. Substitute Teacher Assistants work alongside classroom teachers and other members of the faculty and staff to support a positive, engaging, and well-organized learning environment. Depending on the assignment, responsibilities may include supporting classroom instruction, working with individual students or small groups, assisting with classroom preparation and organization, and helping students navigate daily routines. Substitute Teacher Assistants also provide active student supervision during non-instructional periods, including lunch, recess, morning arrival, passing periods, and afternoon dismissal. Because substitutes may work with different teachers, students, and grade levels from one assignment to the next, successful candidates will be flexible, dependable, comfortable taking direction, and able to quickly adapt to established classroom routines and expectations.
