About The Position

Kamaʻāina Kids is seeking dependable substitute teachers for their preschool classrooms who are ready to step in when needed. This role offers flexibility, allowing individuals to choose the days they are available and enjoy weekday hours while making a positive impact on children's lives in Hawaiʻi. The position provides an opportunity to work with different teaching teams, meet new children, and experience various classrooms, serving as a meaningful way to contribute to the community and potentially transition into permanent teaching roles.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old
• High school graduates or GED equivalent
• Reliable and adaptable
• Friendly, patient, and positive
• Comfortable working with young children
• Ready to jump in wherever they're needed
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and reside in Hawaiʻi (or have plans to relocate)

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in maintaining a safe, engaging classroom
• Help supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities
• Assist with meals, transitions, and daily routines
• Read stories, lead activities, and encourage learning through play
• Step in wherever your classroom team needs an extra set of hands
