About The Position

Kamaʻāina Kids is seeking dependable substitute teachers for their preschool classrooms. This role offers a flexible schedule, allowing individuals to work as many or as few days as they are available, from a few days a month to several days a week. The position provides weekday hours and the opportunity to make a positive impact on children's lives in Hawaiʻi. Substitutes will work in various classrooms, gain experience in early childhood education, and may have the opportunity to transition into permanent teaching positions.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old
• High school graduates or GED equivalent
• Reliable and adaptable
• Friendly, patient, and positive
• Comfortable working with young children
• Ready to jump in wherever they're needed
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and reside in Hawaiʻi (or have plans to relocate)

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in maintaining a safe, engaging classroom
• Help supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities
• Assist with meals, transitions, and daily routines
• Read stories, lead activities, and encourage learning through play
• Step in wherever your classroom team needs an extra set of hands
