About The Position

Kamaʻāina Kids is seeking dependable substitute teachers for their preschool classrooms who are ready to provide an extra helping hand. This role offers flexible scheduling, allowing individuals to choose the days they are available, and provides weekday hours. Substitutes will make a positive difference for children in Hawaiʻi, with opportunities to work alongside different teaching teams, meet new children, and experience various classrooms. This position can serve as a stepping stone to permanent teaching roles within the organization.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old
• High school graduates or GED equivalent
• Reliable and adaptable
• Friendly, patient, and positive
• Comfortable working with young children
• Ready to jump in wherever they're needed
• Must be eligible to work in the U.S. and reside in Hawaiʻi (or have plans to relocate)

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in maintaining a safe, engaging classroom
• Help supervise children during indoor and outdoor activities
• Assist with meals, transitions, and daily routines
• Read stories, lead activities, and encourage learning through play
• Step in wherever your classroom team needs an extra set of hands
