About The Position

This is a general position listing for a Substitute Nurse for the 2026-2027 school year. The role is district-wide. Requirements

  • RN certification required.

Nice To Haves

  • Preference given to current first aid and CPR certificates.
  • Preference given to experience and/or training with youth.
  • Such alternative to the above qualification as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing school health program.
  • Observe students on a regular basis to detect health needs.
  • Instruct teachers on screening students for health defects.
  • Maintain up-to-date cumulative health records on all students.
  • Report to parents, school personnel, physicians, clinics, and other agencies on student health matters.
  • Assume authority, in the absence of a physician, for the care of a student or staff member who has suffered an injury or emergency illness.
  • Administer first aid in accordance with established first aid procedures.
  • Make recommendations on health needs of individual students.
  • Make recommendation and implement Board policy on exclusion and readmission of students in connection with infectious and contagious diseases.
  • Assist school personnel in maintaining sanitary standards in schools.
  • Other duties as assigned.
