About The Position

Metro Technology Centers is accepting applications for an substitute welding instructor that will be responsible for the education and supervision of the students/staff in their charge utilizing curriculum which follows the Construction Industry Board (CIB), occupation-based curriculum design, delivered in a flexible manner as individual student needs dictate to develop knowledge, skills, work ethics, and compatible attitudes for employment.

Requirements

Current Oklahoma Electrical Journeyman License Required
2 Years Minimum Experience
Residential Experience Required

Nice To Haves

Commercial Experience Preferred
Teaching Experience Preferred
OSHA 10/30 Preferred
Highly-skilled in computer-related communication, word-processing, and school-related technology preferred

Responsibilities

Present subject matter according to guidelines established by Oklahoma statute.
Deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences in the classroom, laboratory/shop and/or work-based learning environment as established by State, National and/or District standards and requirements.
Concurrently facilitate student learning at varying skill levels and multiple stages within the program
Be a positive role model for students, support mission of school district.
Manage classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Uphold and manage student behavior expectations consistent with district/program guidelines
Maintain a professional relationships and behaviors with colleagues and students.
Use appropriate and effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
Maintain certifications/licensures consistent with Oklahoma CIB and district guidelines
