About The Position

Assist the classroom teacher with performing duties necessary to meet the educational needs of an individual or group of students. The Educational Assistant's primary focus is on directly serving students or preparing for meeting the students' needs. Maintain in day-to-day dealings with staff and students. This position also supports lunchroom supervision.

Requirements

High School diploma or general education degree (GED).
Read, write, and comprehend instructions, short correspondences, and memos.
Mobility and ability to lift and/or assist individuals who weigh up to 50 pounds.
Hearing, speech, and sight are required.

Responsibilities

Assist the classroom teacher with performing duties necessary to meet the educational needs of an individual or group of students.
Directly serving students or preparing for meeting the students' needs.
Maintain in day-to-day dealings with staff and students.
Support lunchroom supervision.
Present information in one-to-one and small group situations to students, parents, and or staff.
Provide a variety of suggestions for working with students in the special education setting.
Maintain flexibility in day-to-day dealings with staff and students.
Maintain the confidentiality of all information regarding students.
Perform duties within a tight daily schedule and with an awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
