About The Position

AVID tutors work with students in small, subject-specific collaborative tutorial groups and individually, assisting them in academic areas so they can make progress commensurate with college expectations. Tutors facilitate collaborative tutorials and help AVID students achieve their full potential. Tutorials take place during the school day on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Currently enrolled college student with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
• Strong background in math, science, and/or English, evidenced by high school or college transcripts.

Responsibilities

• Work with AVID students in small, subject-specific study groups and individually.
• Assist students in academic areas to help them make progress commensurate with college expectations.
• Facilitate collaborative tutorial groups to help students achieve their full potential.
