About The Position

Working independently, Safety’s Subrogation Specialists are responsible for evaluating recovery opportunities, identifying responsible party coverage, obtaining documentation supporting liability and first-party indemnity payments, and pursuing recovery against other insurance carriers and self-insured entities.

Requirements

• College degree or commensurate insurance experience required
• Ability to work independently and manage a high caseload

Nice To Haves

• Three or more years handling Massachusetts auto insurance claims preferred
• Previous subrogation or collections experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Reviews claims to determine potential for recovery
• Identifies responsible party coverage
• Evaluates claim liability assessments and indemnity payments
• Gathers, investigates, and develops supporting documentation to secure appropriate settlements
• Reviews incoming settlement offers
• Negotiates settlements with responsible parties when appropriate
• Prepares files for and files arbitration when appropriate
• Refers appropriate files to collection attorneys
• Develops and maintains documentation, including case maintenance and control over aging files
• Hears arbitrations as an Arbitration Forums arbiter
• Performs other activities as required
