About The Position

Eaton’s ES AMER ARS PDCAD division is currently seeking a Subassembly Technician. The rate for this position is $18.11 per hour. The core hours are Monday through Thursday from 5:00 am until 3:00 pm. This position is also eligible for a variable incentive program. Please note that the salary information shown is a general guideline only. Salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position.
  • Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Greenwood, SC will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • Willing to work flexible hours and overtime to support business needs.
  • Able to safely and effectively use various hand tools, power tools, step ladders, and cranes to assemble units.
  • Proficient in standard computer programs such as Microsoft Outlook and job-specific software such as Enovia.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, computer skills, persuasive skills, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Work with individuals and groups to effectively participate within team environment.

Nice To Haves

  • 3 months of manufacturing experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
  • 3 months of experience using hand and air tools.
  • South Carolina Manufacturing Certification (SCMC) or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Creating and installing nameplates used in the manufacture of medium- and high-voltage assemblies, including indoor and outdoor assemblies, breakers and auxiliary compartments, customer service orders, power modules, and related sub-assemblies.
  • Working from manufacturing documentation, including electrical and mechanical drawings, sketches, and written or verbal instructions from engineering or supervision, following established procedures to ensure accurate nameplate creation.
  • Completing daily productivity tracking and 5S documentation.
  • Maintaining minimum Kanban inventory levels and reporting material shortages, defects, or updates to appropriate operators and supervisors.
  • Responding to engineering change notices, customer-requested modifications, and development requirements.
  • Supporting engineering, drafting, and supervision with customer-initiated development and improvement activities.
  • Other duties may be assigned as business needs require.
