Railcar Electro-Mechanical Subassembly Technician

Siemens MobilityLexington, NC
Onsite

About The Position

Pioneering in America, from the first mile to the last. For more than 160 years, Siemens has fueled U.S. infrastructure, electrification, and mobility. Today, Siemens Mobility’s Rolling Stock team in Lexington, NC leads North America in building passenger coaches, locomotives, and light rail vehicles. By pairing automation with digitalization, we transform rail—elevating safety, reliability, punctuality, and sustainability while reducing lifecycle costs. A day in this role Imagine starting your morning on a modern production line where each task contributes to the next generation of passenger rail. You’ll move between electrical and mechanical workstations, building control racks, wire harnesses, and precision subassemblies that power trains across the continent. Assemble and integrate units within passenger coaches—roofs, cable harnesses, mounted parts, electrical racks and panels, plus air supply racks and piping assemblies. Run, terminate, and secure wiring: connect components, terminals, and contact points; measure and cut to length; route, twist, wrap, tie, and attach to specified terminal points. Perform rework cycles as needed—disassemble, modify, refurbish, and reassemble to meet exacting standards. Translate technical information into action using production blueprints, wiring diagrams, parts and wire lists, sketches, and verbal instructions to create electrical and electro-mechanical subassemblies. Apply excellent fine-motor dexterity to handle and assemble small parts accurately.

  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without needing current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
