About The Position

As a Sub Assembler, you will assemble components by following engineering blueprints, other written specifications and verbal instructions. You will receive, review and prepare the parts kit for assembly; review build manuals that include drawings and bill of materials; review instructions for assembly; and arrange parts and materials for the machine to correspond to sales order specifications. You will inspect and prepare parts, which may involve removing small quantities of metal to reduce sharp edges and/or to produce close fit between parts. You will drill, tap, or ream holes in metal pieces using hand tools. You will align components and attach with bolts, screws or various hardware. You will use fixtures to assemble simple assemblies. Assemblies are subject to inspection under the supervision of a lead assembler. You will test or assist in testing the operation of the completed product.

Requirements

  • High School degree or equivalent
  • 2 to 4 years’ experience as a machinery assembler
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to handle a multi-tasked role
  • Good organizational skills
  • Math abilities to include knowledge of fractions and decimal equivalents
  • Basic understanding of Metric system measurements and conversion from inches/feet to mm/cm/m
  • Ability to use precision measuring procedures
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and general arrangement drawings
  • Good mental and visual abilities along with good dexterity
  • Regular attendance and daily punctuality are necessary for performing the job
  • Ability to lift in excess of 25 lbs
