Stylist in Training / Apprentice Stylist

SmartStyle Hair Salon•Enid, OK

About The Position

The Stylist in Training is a temporary 90-day position designed to help candidates learn the salon business while delivering exceptional customer service across communication channels. The trainee learns how to grow the business and control expenses by observing stylists and managers, greets customers, answers the phone, keeps the salon clean, and follows safety standards. A promotion to Stylist may be considered after the trainee obtains the required license, but promotion is not guaranteed; candidates must apply for the Stylist position with Supercuts. To be considered for promotion, candidates must hold an appropriate valid license for their state, be able to perform the duties allowed by state licensing requirements (including cutting, styling, coloring, wax treatments, washing, and perming hair, with or without accommodation), and demonstrate honesty, accountability, integrity, and respect. The role requires graduation from an accredited cosmetology school and obtaining the necessary license(s) to perform salon services within or before 90 days of hire. Candidates should have good judgment and time-management skills, communicate well with customers, coworkers, and management, and be comfortable using point-of-sale systems and entering data. The position requires a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, and availability to travel to mandatory meetings and training, including overnight travel. Physical requirements include standing for most of the day, lifting up to 10 pounds to stock retail shelves, and occasionally lifting 10–25 pounds to help unload monthly product shipments. Candidates must be able to read, write, and perform basic math. If hired, the candidate will be a direct employee of an independent Regis franchisee, which is responsible for employment matters and sets its own wages and benefits.
