About The Position

Under direct supervision, the Studio Student Assistant will assist staff with various tasks related to studio production and equipment management. This role involves supporting students and faculty, maintaining equipment, assisting with media capture, and operating specialized equipment like the LED wall. The assistant will also be responsible for organizing production spaces, managing equipment check-out, and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

• Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
• Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
• In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
• Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
• Ability to learn and perform assigned work
• Follow oral instructions
• Work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students
• Communicate effectively with all levels
• Read and write English at a level appropriate to the position

Responsibilities

• Provide support to students and faculty in open labs and classes
• Set up, clean and maintain studio equipment
• Assist with studio production
• Manage equipment check-out, maintenance and inventory
• Organize and set up control room and production room
• Handle media capture and off-load
• Operate LED wall and related equipment
• Take direction, show initiative and work as a team player
• Attend meetings and work weekends as needed
• Assist staff with maintain production equipment and storage
• Carry equipment as required
• Other duties as assigned
