About The Position

Christ’s Church of the Valley (CCV) seeks a Students Pastor to support the church’s mission to win people to Jesus Christ, train believers to become disciples, and send disciples to impact the world. The Students Ministry shapes students to become Christ-centered difference makers. This role assists in pastoring Junior and Senior High students by recruiting, training, and retaining youth coaches and implementing student programs and events. The Students Pastor also helps grow the campus in attendance, coaches, and baptisms.

The role executes Junior and Senior High events and programs, communicates the CCV and Students Ministry vision to parents and volunteers, provides pastoral care for families and coaches, and develops school-campus involvement. It includes following up with first-time students, accurately collecting and reporting weekly attendance, and collaborating with the team on church-wide events such as kickoff events, Easter, and Christmas Eve.

The successful candidate aligns with CCV’s CORE Values, Staff Fundamentals, mission, and commitments; demonstrates maturity as a Christ follower; and is willing to participate actively in CCV worship, groups, service, and giving. Candidates should bring leadership, results orientation, customer focus, interpersonal effectiveness, and a commitment to self-development.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience leading a youth ministry and volunteers.
• Alignment with CCV’s CORE Values and Staff Fundamentals.
• Support for CCV’s vision and mission and active membership in CCV, or willingness to become an active member.
• Regular attendance at worship with family, participation in a CCV Group, and consistent tithing.
• Demonstrated maturity as a Christ follower.
• Fully engaged, or willing to become engaged, in CCV Next Steps: baptism by immersion at an age of decision, regular worship attendance with family, participation in a CCV small group, volunteering in a CCV ministry, and returning at least a full 10% tithe to CCV.
• Leadership skills, including the ability to trust, coach, and guide people, communicate vision and purpose, and influence others.
• Drive for results, including initiative, action orientation, and persistence in achieving results.
• Dedication to meeting internal and external customer expectations.
• Interpersonal skills, including relationship-building and effective interpersonal and corporate communication.
• Commitment to self-development, including seeking constructive criticism and understanding personal strengths and weaknesses.

Nice To Haves

• A degree in Youth Ministry; training or proven experience in the field may be considered instead.
• Athletic team experience.
• Software and technology skills.

Responsibilities

• Execute Junior and Senior High events and programs.
