About The Position

The Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission is seeking to hire one (1) highly motivated student to fill a student worker position within the agency. The intern will develop professional oral and written communication skills and gain experience in all facets of office work. Through the up to 6-month position, student workers will gain knowledge of the inter-related divisions of the Illinois Workers’ Compensation Commission with a view toward qualifying for a specific position in the Agency upon the completion of academic studies.

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to enrollment in high school or college.

Responsibilities

  • Performs basic clerical functions, including limited keyboarding, filing, receptionist, mailroom, document processing and other clerical support tasks.
  • Performs property and supply support functions including delivery of supplies and materials, moving furniture, stocking shelves, packaging and inventory.
  • Participates in staff meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
