About The Position

Mission Waco is seeking a Student Worker - Youth Program Assistant to assist in planning and implementing daily activities for their Youth Program. This role involves building relationships with program participants, enforcing rules, and assisting with administrative and cleaning tasks. The position requires eligibility for Federal Work-Study and reliable transportation. The program operates Monday-Thursday from approximately 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm, with a requirement for work-study students to be available two of those days. Additional hours may be scheduled for administrative duties. The desired length of employment is Fall/Ongoing.

Requirements

  • Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • General office skills.
  • Good written and oral communication with others.
  • Mature and adept communicator.
  • Flexibility and ability to prioritize well.
  • Problem solving competence.
  • Mature Christian Faith.

Nice To Haves

  • If 21 years or older with a driver’s license and good driving record, you may receive training to assist with transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare daily program activities (gather equipment, setup rooms, etc.)
  • Help supervise youth in daily activities.
  • Help prepare and implement the daily activities at program.
  • Supervise the youth and all volunteers.
  • Assist with various cleaning and administrative tasks.
  • Assist in working with external community service partners.
  • Assist with transportation to pick up youth from school and transport to the Mission Waco program (if qualified and trained).

Benefits

  • Pay Rate: $11.00-12.50/hr
