About The Position
The Security Operations Center (SOC) is responsible for monitoring and protecting the university's network and systems from cyber threats. As a SOC student worker, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in incident response, threat hunting, and security operations. You will also be able to develop your skills in various cybersecurity technologies and methodologies.
Requirements
- Enrolled as a student in a computer science, cybersecurity, data science, or related field
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong interest in cybersecurity, computer science, and/or data science
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges
Nice To Haves
- Familiarity with security tools and technologies is a plus (but not required)
Responsibilities
- Monitor security systems and respond to security incidents
- Assist in threat hunting and incident response efforts
- Help maintain and improve security operations processes
- Participate in training and awareness efforts for the university community
- Develop your skills in cybersecurity technologies and methodologies
