About The Position

This role involves assisting students with scheduling advising appointments and providing them with comprehensive information regarding their situation and credentials to the Advising Center staff. The position also offers guidance to students on advising procedures, programs of study, and department information relevant to their individual circumstances. Key responsibilities include aiding in the collection, data entry, and analysis of Advising Center assessments, and ensuring the center's systems and procedures comply with academic requirements and standards. The role supports the operation and administration of the Advising Center, upholding compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, university policies, and procedures. Additionally, the position contributes to planning, developing, evaluating, and modifying methods, procedures, and structures to ensure efficiency and effectiveness in the advising process. This includes answering the main phone line, taking messages, and transferring calls appropriately, in alignment with university policies. Other duties as assigned will also be performed.

Responsibilities

  • Assists students with scheduling advising appointments.
  • Provides comprehensive information of student situation and credentials to Advising Center staff.
  • Offers guidance to students on advising procedures, programs of study, and department information.
  • Assists with Advising Center assessment collection, data entry, and data analysis.
  • Helps the Advising Center achieve and maintain systems and procedural compliance with academic requirements and standards.
  • Supports the operation and administration of the Advising Center, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and university policies and procedures.
  • Plans, develops, evaluates, and modifies methods, procedures, and structures for efficiency and effectiveness in the advising process.
  • Answers the main phone, takes messages, and transfers calls appropriately.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
