About The Position
This position serves one or both sections of ECN 286 Econometrics with Professor Lee for Fall 2026. The student mentor acts as a positive academic and social resource, promoting academic success and persistence, and directing students to appropriate services and staff. The role requires maintaining confidentiality and possessing strong interpersonal and creative problem-solving skills.
Requirements
- Must have previously taken and successfully passed ECN 286 at Grinnell College
- Must be available for Tuesday/Thursday 8-9:20 AM
- Must be available for Tuesday/Thursday 1:10-2:30 PM
- Ability to maintain confidentiality with shared information
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Creative problem-solving skills
Responsibilities
- Attend class
- Meet with supervising professor
- Create lesson plans
- Facilitate weekly mentor sessions for students in the class
