About The Position

This is a regular student technical position in which the student will assist staff or faculty with supporting the classrooms, labs, or departments. Duties may include setting up, picking up, and checking-in classroom items for classes. May be requested to set up audio/visual equipment, PowerPoint presentations, and/or computers for staff, faculty or students.

Requirements

• Proficiency with software/technology utilized in class.
• Sensitivity of intercultural communication.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Detail oriented.
• Dependable.
• Punctual.
• Must be enrolled at least half-time (6 hours for undergraduates, 5 hours for graduates) during fall/spring semesters.
• F1/J1 Visa students must be enrolled full-time (12 hours for undergraduates, 9 hours for graduates) during fall/spring semesters.
• Must be enrolled in at least 3 summer credit hours or be enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in the minimum credit hours required for their classification and employment type to work during the summer semester.
• For Federal Work Study Program (FWSP) positions, students must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours (undergraduate) or 5 credit hours (graduate).

Responsibilities

• Assisting staff or faculty with supporting the classrooms, labs, or departments.
• Setting up, picking up, and checking-in classroom items for classes.
• Setting up audio/visual equipment, PowerPoint presentations, and/or computers for staff, faculty or students.
• Assisting faculty with classroom management and answering questions.
