About The Position

GMC Prep School announces an opening for a Student Support Specialist for the 2024-25 school year. Georgia Military College Prep School is a K - 12th grade public, independent, military, college-preparatory school with a mission to develop the intellect and elevate the character of the 850+ students we serve. The Student Support Specialist for K-5 is responsible for coordinating and supporting an intervention program that will promote academic student progress. The Student Support Specialist for K-5 will work closely with the Student Support Director for K-12. This position is for a 10-month full-time position. This position includes identifying students who may need support, researching evidence-based interventions, and then providing those interventions. The position will involve creating and maintaining a schedule for student support. In addition, the Student Support Specialist will work with teachers to provide classroom intervention strategies and meet with parents to keep them informed on their student's progress. Requirements

• Applicants must hold a valid clear renewable Georgia teaching certificate.
• At least 5 years experience in an elementary classroom.
• Completed LTRS training or has completed his/her reading endorsement.
