AWEC - Student Supervisor (Term)
About The Position
The Annapolis Valley Regional Centre for Education (AVRCE) is seeking a Student Supervisor for a term position at Annapolis West Education Centre. This role involves providing general indoor and/or outdoor student supervision for 1.50 hours per day. The term runs from September 1, 2026, to June 30, 2027. Wages are $21.21 per hour and are in accordance with the Nova Scotia Government and General Employees Union (NSGEU) Local 73 Bargaining Unit. This position is subject to the Annual Layoff/Recall Process as per Articles 29 & 30 of the NSGEU Local 73 Collective Agreement. Requirements
- Develop and maintain positive rapport with students.
- Current CPR and First Aid training.
- Previous experience working with children and/or adolescents.
- Ability to exercise good judgment and take initiative.
- Bona fide occupational requirements of the position, including physical ability.
Responsibilities
- Provide supervision for students before and after school, during the lunch and recess breaks.
- Familiarization of any medical or programs students may have (e.g. specific behaviour plans).
- Report to the principal or designate any problem or discipline issue that occurred during supervision.
- Other duties that are site specific (polices and protocol) and within the scope of responsibility of the position.
