Requirements

  • Equivalent to a bachelor's degree in a related field and two years of administrative support experience required.
  • Ability to communicate with an ethnically and culturally diverse campus community.
  • Ability to follow all university policies, procedures, and guidelines including but not limited to safety, civility, information security, and non-discrimination policies and procedures.
  • Ability to contribute to a positive university experience for each and every student and assist in achieving the university's commitment to a "vision of excellence."

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Possession of valid California Driver's License in order to operate a University cart or personal vehicle for business preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees and coordinates daily operations, processes, and resources to ensure efficient, effective, and seamless program or departmental functioning.
  • Manages budget-related activities, financial tracking, purchasing, and reporting to support responsible stewardship of program or departmental funds.
  • Supports the administration and delivery of services, programs, and residential operations that foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging living-learning environment for student residents at CSULB's Beachside Village.
  • Performs complex, confidential, challenging and fiscal responsibilities in support of AVP and his assigned areas, Student Affairs Sr. Management, and VP's office ensuring compliance with regulations and requirements.
  • Handles routine matters independently, seeking assistance from supervisors only with regard to the more difficult problems or situations.
  • Provides services that are equitable, inclusive and provide culturally sensitive services that enhance the quality of campus life.
  • Uses a student centered and equity minded approach in all communication and service efforts.
  • Coordinates hiring and recruitment processes, tracks supplemental funding sources, and maintains accurate financial and payroll records.
  • Provides leadership and coordination for the CSULB Village Program, overseeing program operations, events, assessment activities, communications, and stakeholder engagement efforts.
  • Collaborates effectively with campus departments, community organizations, and external partners to expand resources, support student engagement, and advance student success initiatives.
  • Coordinates program logistics, monitors budgets, maintains documentation, develops promotional strategies, and evaluates program outcomes to ensure continuous improvement.
