About The Position

This position represents the college to potential students and their families, secondary schools and their respective officials, post-secondary institutions and their respective officials and the community at large. The role maintains a balanced focus on both recruitment and retention by building strong, sustained relationships with Nashville State Community College students throughout the student lifecycle.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two (2) years’ experience working with students
  • Prior customer service experience
  • Proficient computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree
  • Prior marketing experience
  • Bilingual, preferably Spanish and/or Arabic
  • Experience with Ellucian products, particularly Banner
  • Career advising experience

Responsibilities

  • Provides student-centered service to prospective students and their families regarding the college, academic offerings, career choice, admission procedures and financial aid options. This includes assisting applicants through the application and financial aid process.
  • Develops, coordinates and expands activities related to New Student Orientation and other student on-boarding communications and services.
  • Collaborates to develop, refines, delivers and evaluates orientation for new students, including the development of new recruitment programs for transfer and non-traditional students.
  • Plans, develops, and implements student activities and events that promote a sense of belonging, campus involvement, and student success. This includes leading student programming initiatives designed to support retention and college completion, such as co-curricular events, engagement campaigns, and targeted programming.
  • Participates in recruitment events on and off campus, such as high school fairs, college fairs, campus tours, open houses and other events.
  • Engages prospective students, supports outreach efforts, and guides them through the enrollment process in collaboration with appropriate college offices.
  • Through intentional outreach, relationship-building, and dynamic student programming, this position plays a critical role in both attracting new students and ensuring they remain engaged, persist, and successfully completing their educational goals.
  • Coordinates the operations of the campus testing center, including scheduling, administration, and support services.
  • Assists with accepting student payments in accordance with institutional policies and provides a range of administrative support functions to ensure effective daily operations.
  • Serves on college committees as assigned.
  • Oversees student workers as needed.
