About The Position

Behavioral Health Associates (BHA) is an educational organization that offers an academic learning environment integrated with behavior support services for students diagnosed with emotional/behavioral disorders. The goal is to empower students in overcoming challenges and creating new stories in their lives. This position is for a Student Services Coordinator (SSC) for the PRIDE IES Program located at Valley Ridge Academy.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education or other human development related field.
  • PA Special Education Teaching Certification, required.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with staff and leadership team, while maintaining professional boundaries.
  • Positively represent and promote BHA services to outside organizations.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all matters, including the dissemination of information regarding program development, staffing, and billing.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team.
  • Communicate effectively utilizing both written and oral communication.
  • Basic computer literacy with Microsoft/Office 365 (Word, Excel, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Effectively utilize technology for communication and reporting needs.

Responsibilities

  • Scheduling and facilitating IEP meetings.
  • Composing IEP’s.
  • Ensuring that all aspects of the IEP are being adhered to within each classroom environment.
  • Oversight of academic strategies, interventions, and progress as the school schedule dictates.
  • Filling in for absentee staff and performing a variety of administrative tasks, as well as therapeutic interventions.
  • Communicating and working cooperatively with staff, students, parents, district personnel and any agency members to meet client needs.
  • Providing director with data and continuous feedback concerning student progress, behaviors, and incidents.
  • Creating and updating IEP’s/FBAs for Special Education students and scheduling their yearly meetings with parents, districts, and outside agencies.
  • Maintaining and updating student folders and databases during the school year.
  • Assisting teachers with curriculum planning and instruction based on goals in each student’s IEP/SDI section.
  • Assisting in non-violent crisis intervention and providing appropriate CPI Certified Restraint when necessary.
  • Contributing to the development and maintenance of an environment which is non-threatening, safe, and nurturing and where the students feel respected, accepted, and welcomed.
  • Establishing and following the behavior management system as outlined in the description of the TALID system by enforcing the TALID system daily.
  • Providing support to all program staff.
  • Overseeing all diagnostic testing and tracking results for Aimsweb and Exact Path and communicating results to Director.
  • Overseeing PSSA testing.
  • Communicating with students, parents, and sending school district as needed for any behavioral, educational or attendance reasons.
  • Keeping accurate records on students’ progress in academic and behavioral areas, including writing Incident Reports when needed.
  • Completing clerical duties, as needed.
  • Coordinating Field Trips.
  • Filling in as needed in each classroom.
  • Completing Other Duties as assigned by Administration.
