About The Position
The Student Research Assistant supports microbiological research by performing routine laboratory preparation and maintenance tasks. The position is time-limited and scheduled for 10 hours per week. The student must participate in the Federal Work Study Program.
Requirements
- Participation in the Federal Work Study Program.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one semester of college completed.
Nice To Haves
- Basic laboratory skills are a plus, but are not required.
Responsibilities
- Prepare culture media, common laboratory solutions, glassware, and plasticware.
- Manage biological waste.
- Maintain laboratory cleanliness.
- Track laboratory inventories.
