About The Position

We are seeking a student to join us for a 4, 8 or 12 month co-op position starting in September 2026. This role is based out of Pickering, ON.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in Civil, Mechanical, Structural, or Industrial Engineering program.
• Will complete at least one more semester of education following your internship.
• Possess a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
• Ability to lead and operate within an environment where change happens frequently.

• Residency, or a valid work permit which would allow you to work for Bird Construction or one of our wholly owned subsidiaries.
• If selected for a role with client specific requirements, you may be required to successfully complete a pre-employment Medical and/or Alcohol & Drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate drawings and work specific scope/trades.
• Review trade quotes, verify material quantities, hours, and rates.
• Participate in project meetings.
• Conduct deficiency walks and update deficiency logs.
• Issue warranties.
• Take and coordinate progress photos.
• Update field drawings and produce as-built drawings.
• Perform quantity takeoffs.
• Coordinate sub-trade work.
• Verify site conditions and coordinate with drawings.
• Supervise sub-trade work.
• Set up and maintain record keeping.
• Layout site lines and grades using total station.
• Update project schedules.
• Create manual schedules and update schedules.
• Obtain scheduling information from sub-trades.
• Create and maintain graphical scheduling.
• Monitor manpower productivity.
