About The Position

New Student and Family Programs (NSFP) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) is seeking a Student Programs Coordinator II. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, facilitating, and evaluating various programs aimed at helping students successfully integrate into the university environment. Additionally, the role involves recruiting, hiring, and supervising student employees to enhance the student experience and campus environment. This position may be reassigned within the Student Success and Well-Being (SSWB) division at management's discretion.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience OR Master's degree and 0+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • All applicants must be authorized to work for any U.S. employer.
  • Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
  • Position requires a valid Class E driver’s license.
  • This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct University business.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Affairs, or a related field, or a Bachelor's degree in the related field with 2+ years of post-grad experience.
  • Orientation program and/or large event planning experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Prior Higher Education experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor 35-40 Orientation Leaders, covering all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
  • Plan, implement, and assess a comprehensive recruitment plan for Orientation Leaders to support Orientation Programs, Family Programs, University events, and other NSFP priorities.
  • Coordinate and implement logistical needs for Orientation programs, including script development, facilitation guides, staffing plans, on-site event management, stakeholder communication, and reservation management.
  • Create and manage staffing and payroll shifts in coordination with the Associate Director and key stakeholders to stay within the Orientation Leader payroll budget, ensuring adequate staffing for programs.
  • Support and provide ongoing training and development opportunities for Orientation Leaders, focusing on NACE Competencies (or other NSFP curricular priorities) and key job responsibilities.
  • Coordinate and implement a comprehensive assessment plan for Orientation Leaders, including annual and mid-year performance appraisals.
  • Support and participate in other NSFP, SSWB, and UCF initiatives, committees, and working groups.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
